As a young adult I was a member of then BSA Troop 102 and served multiple years as Patrol Leader and a Troop Sribe/Historian. Much of my duties included organizing events for my fellow scouts, documenting and photographing events, and writing an email newsletter that was sent out to parents.
As a capstone to being a BSA Scout, I earned the rank of Eagle Scout by organizing a non-profit project for the Good Shepard Lutheran Church School in Gulf-Breeze/Midway, Florida. With the support of my troop, I organized, fundraised, and planned a project to build planter boxes for the Church's school so that they may include gardening and hands-on horticultural lessons in their curiculum.
My whole troop came to assemble two boxes over the span of two days. All funds and resources were recieved as donations from the church congregation and from the local Lowes Hardware store, and the remaining funds were donated back to the School to help fund their lessons.
